Catholic Ecclesial Movements and New Communities in the U.S. in conversation

Schoenstatt is one of the seven Movements and New Communities coordinating MovCom.US since 2015.  

Schoenstatt is responsible for the communication of MovCom.US, including its logo, website, videos, newsletters, design and social media.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SCHOENSTATT PARTICIPATION IN MOVCOM.US

– June 2013  First Schoenstatt participation in MovCom.US. Fr. Gerold Langsch attended the First Gathering of Representatives of MovCom.US in Shriver, Louisiana.

– August 2014 National Celebratory Event in Olney, MD, Great Washington, DC. Schoenstatt participated as co-organizer.

– June 2015  Fr. Gerold Langsch and Fr. Jesus Ferras attended the Second Gathering of MovCom.US.

July 2015 Fr. Langsch starts representing Schoenstatt at the monthly meetings of MovCom.US

– November 2015 Fr. Ferras and Enrique Soros represented Schoenstatt at a Luncheon for Bishops at their Annual Meeting held in Baltimore.

January 2016 Fr. Ferras starts representing Schoenstatt at MovCom.US.

– June 2016 Fr. Ferras can’t continue representing Schoenstatt because of his travel schedule. He informs MovCom.US that Enrique Soros will replace him.

June 2016: Enrique Soros starts representing Schoenstatt at MovCom.US.

Since then, Enrique represented Schoenstatt at 

– the two meetings of Movements and New Communities at national V Encuentro in Grapevine, Texas, in September 2018;

– the Third Gathering in July 2019 in Shriver, LA, along with Ana María Coulverhouse, and Kathy and John Strickland;

– a meeting of the coordination of MovCom.US in Feb. 2020, in St. Louis, MO, at which the vision and mission of MovCom.US was outlined.

– the Forth, June 2021, the Fifth, Feb. 2022; and 6th Gathering, Feb. 2023, all three virtual, with the presence of around 8 more Schoenstatters each;

– the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth of USCCB on behalf of MovCom.US, from November 2019 to November 2022, at a request of its chair, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone.

– and at the (usually) monthly meetings for 7 years. 

 

Fr. Pushpa Antonysamy, National Director of the Schoenstatt Movement, supported the presence and action of Schoenstatters at MovCom.US. He participated in the Fourth Gathering.
